This weekend, (26th April 2025) we launched the pilot project "Generational Threads," part of the larger initiative "Generational Echos MK." We had the pleasure of gathering several local women who shared stories about clothing passed down through generations. Garments over 50 years old were displayed at Unity Place Community Hall.
This project marks the beginning of a larger effort to connect Milton Keynes with its wide diverse heritage.
Our goal is to collect audio archives and promote memories, heritage, and history, providing a platform for heritage brought to Milton Keynes.
We will be doing a series of radio shows in June where we will bring on air the ladies who took part in the event to give them a platform to share their memories. Full details can be found here via our page Generational Echos MK
Thank you to the incredible women of Milton Keynes, Unity Place, and Cllr Shazna Muzammil for their support.
