SongProof: New Revolution in Music Protection for Artists Everywhere

A ground-breaking new platform is changing how artists around the world protect their music and it costs less than a cup of coffee. SongProof empowers singers, songwriters, and producers to lock in ownership of their creations the moment they’re made — using

blockchain technology to create a permanent, verifiable proof of authorship that can never be altered or disputed.

For decades, musicians have struggled to prove who created a song first, often facing

expensive legal battles or lost royalties. SongProof ends that uncertainty. By uploading a song or lyrics, creators receive a time-stamped certificate of ownership that’s cryptographically tied to their actual audio file — not just a title or a database entry. It’s secure, global, and takes only minutes. “SongProof gives artists something they’ve never had before — instant, undeniable proof that their music is theirs,” says co-founder Hina Rizvi, an entertainment lawyer and expert in intellectual property and blockchain law. “It puts protection and confidence in the hands of the creator, no matter where they are in the world.”

SongProof uses the same blockchain technology that secures global financial systems to

anchor each proof to a tamper-proof public ledger. Once registered, the proof cannot be

altered, deleted, or backdated — providing what Rizvi describes as “forensic-grade digital

evidence” that meets Daubert standards used in courts worldwide. “Think of it like sealing

your song in an envelope, stamping it with the exact date and time, and storing it somewhere no one can ever touch,” Rizvi explains. “That’s what blockchain lets us do for music.” Unlike traditional copyright registration — which can take weeks, cost hundreds, and require legal expertise — SongProof is designed to be simple, fast, and affordable. Artists upload their file, fill in basic details or co-writer information, and receive a verifiable proof within minutes. “SongProof complements official copyright systems,” Rizvi adds. “But it gives creators an immediate layer of protection — a digital receipt that can be verified anywhere, anytime.”

The platform also includes built-in split sheet tools, allowing artists and co-writers to record their contributions and avoid disputes before they start. Because SongProof runs on

the Bitcoin and Polygon blockchains, it’s fully decentralized and globally accessible. This

means creators in countries with limited or unreliable copyright infrastructure can protect

their work with the same level of security as artists in major markets. “From a singer in

Lagos to a producer in Seoul to an independent artist starting out in London or Los Angeles,

SongProof gives every artist an equal voice in claiming ownership,” Rizvi says. “That’s what

excites us most — true creative equality.”

Beyond ownership protection, SongProof’s upcoming roadmap includes deeper integrations

with music platforms, one-tap verification links for collaborators, and education

partnerships with universities and music schools worldwide to introduce the concept of

“proof before publish.”

“Protect everything you create — even the demos,” Rizvi advises. “You never know which

version might matter. SongProof gives you the freedom to share and collaborate, knowing

your work is safe.”
