The weekend brought a ray of sunshine for the Vaisakhi celebrations in Milton Keynes.
The ACR team broadcasted live from the Ramgharia Gurudwara in Kiln Farm, honoring the traditions of Vaisakhi.
In 2026, Vaisakhi was celebrated on April 14th and is one of the most important festivals in the Sikh calendar, commemorating the establishment of the Khalsa (initiated Sikh community) in 1699 by Guru Gobind Singh.
It is a lively celebration of faith, community service (seva), and equality, often featuring Nagar Kirtan processions, prayers, and community meals (langar).
Moreover, Vaisakhi is also a traditional spring harvest festival in the Punjab region, celebrating new beginnings, agricultural prosperity, and the solar new year.
We interviewed the sangat that attended to find out what Vaisakhi meant to them.
